Anybody can do it. You just have to not be afraid to try it!

Very true, but having a mill, lathe, E-wheel, louver punch, etc., etc. don't hurt either.

It's true that I, or you, or whoever, could do little without the proper tools, but the tools do not make the parts. The operators of the tools do.

Fascinating build...

I have moved this thread to "Other Cars" so it does not get lost in the chatter and banter in the OT area. I left a permanent redirect to this thread here.

Thanks for posting!!!

Crash, I make these with hammers and sheetmetal nippers...but I'd still love to have those tools.

I just added another person to the list for my retirement neighborhood. I want to build a giant warehouse with a mall sized living complex above the worlds biggest shop. He needs to be there. Just need to win the lotto. Keep updates coming how about some back issues as well.

Just noticed this thread now, since I rarely come to the "Other Cars" section.

WOW, that dude has got some talent. Very sweet build. Keep us updated on this build, as I would like to see it along, and finished.

Spectacular craftsmanship! Do you know if he will pull fiberglass molds from the completed body in order to replicate at a pricepoint below that of hammered aluminum?

Just the other day a friend of mine showed me a picture of his replica 35 Bugatt, which looks like the same model as your friend built. Apparently some fellow was selling a kit for them, several years back, that used a VW bug as a donor car. He hopes to have it on the road by fall.

I never even heard of these before, and now I see two, just within a small time frame..
