After a long wait I finally got my wheels and tires on. Rolled outside for the first time looking like its ready to run (even though its not) I was excited to see what it would look like. Seeing it in the corner for so many years not being able to get far enough away from it to really "see" the lines etc. It was a good christmas present!

Man that is one very STUDLIE car you have built... I wish there was a way you could get by without the louvers in the side as they are a dead give-away that there's something in the boot other than a case of Budweiser...
Just amazing...

Yah I was really on the fence about them, couldn't really get around them though. Somedays I like them, but yah kinda gives it away.

well its been slow progress lately, however got the motor back from the machine shop finally. Made the rest of my spacers and adapters for the clutch. finished some work on my intake, working on dry sump/serpentine layout now. Plumbed the chassis back to the engine bay just needs motor set back in to complete exhaust/plumbing. Ordered axles from the driveshaft shop
In the front is actually running out of room quick. Gas tank, radiator, battery under one fender, dry sump tank under the other, Ac suitcase (yes I said AC Sacramento makes for a miserable hotrod summer). So its pretty well used up in the front.
Awesome is such an overused word. It should be reserved for stuff like this.

I'm really liking the way that you spread the front out and lowered it.. This is going to be a Riddler contender if you take it there!!!
Well thats something I would be proud of, I don't think its going to be quite that level but that's a hell of a compliment. I never really think of it as a "show" car but I'm sure it will win at my local drive in!

If you don't win your local show I'll come around and slap them in the back of their head for being idots. It really is a cool ride. I can't wait to see your first burn out video.
So... the update. Thrashing on it, trying to get it driveable by July 7 to have at a show where I will be doing a shop display. Stripped it all the way back to the frame to finish up some welds, and now its going back together for real. Fenders may be falling off but I'm ready for a test drive!!
Here is a shot of the pipes coming off the turbos
Wiring galore, everything plugs in in sections and groups so I can pull it all and loom it nice later once its for sure what I want
Trying to button up plumbing on dry sump/turbos/everything else. Why is plumbing so expensive?
finished up designing my hood hinge system, just needs some dialing in
Actually started it yesterday, I have been pulling midnighters for a few weeks now to get it to this point. I have a tendency to get an ocd kinda groove. But now it runs.... I had a very long list of worries that have kept me up at nights but it went fairly well. I spent some time today tuning the idle so I can at least start it up without it falling on its face. Pretty good day!
I simply love your work, using the space under the running boards to run plumbing, true genius! Keep the updates coming. Congrats on first start.

Eddie, this car is going to be one of the top rods in my book... I've never seen anything quite like it and your fabrication skills coupled with your insight are incredible...

Thanks for the compliment, but it wasn't so much genius as necessity. Not a lot of room in this thing, its pretty funny but when you stand back and look at it without a seat in it, it doesn't really look like it has a place for a driver. Too much going on. I wanted to keep it without a tunnel just to really emphasize the effect of being mid engine. There will be a smallish hmp for the frame structure and wiring down the middle. The shifter will actually cantilever out over the center with open air under it. Should confuse some people!!

Thanks, definitely felt good to start it and at least be able to know that it isn't a hopeless dream
