How do you get the engine out of it if you need to? Looks like you'd have to strip it down to the short-block and come out the bottom to me...

The entire motor/transaxle drops out the bottom as a unit, or you can pull teh transaxle out the trunk opening. I am using the transaxle adapter plate as a mid plate/mount also so the motor could be left bolted in with the transaxle out.
The body made pulling the whole thing out the top impossible.
I most certainly will. I'm on my 5th week recovering from knee surgery and still on crutches. It is killing me to be laid up, as I could get my new motor, new trans and freshly painted Healey together and back on the road in a weekend.
It may be a few more weeks yet, but you can bet that I'll be paying you a visit.

Wow so been a very busy summer and my personal project is truly lagging behind. I have got some work done lately so heres the updates.
Nearly complete chassis, will need some misc tabs and such
Completed intake, header, intake piping, intercoolers, still needs exhaust after turbos
Body going on, this was a big deal since the intake, turbos, and a lot of stuff happened all by math without the body being on so this was the first chance to see that it all fit
I just finally got around to getting the body blasted, so there was some minor/major repairs to be made still, I had really only tacked a lot of my mods together so I have been waiting for the freshly blasted metal to weld on.
Tight squezze inside
I still need to louver the quarter for intake air through the intercoolers
Motor air intake will be supplied through ducts in the quarter windows
Wow. I just stumbled across this thread. It is very, very cool. This clearly isn't your first rodeo, some mad skills here! Can't wait to see this thing come together!

Looking good! I want to move to Cali in the worst way. It's amazing they have the strictest DMV laws yet have the best car builder culture imo.
yah the dmv can get kinda sticky. Its one of the reasons I like old stuff so much. And the weather definitely helps the culture. Although that is much more true in So cal
