PCV Setup 302 / 347 Stroker - Help

Have a 347 Stroker with Cobra valve covers and Edelbrock RPM Air-Gap intake - Car has a valve cover (VC) breather on the passenger side that twists in. The Driver side has a similar breather with a nipple and vacuum hose to the air cleaner (photos of caps below). I'm getting some oil residue on the pass. side VC like it's blowing out a bit so I assume the lack of a PCV is causing this. I see a bit on the driver side too.

I haven't dug into this yet but assume the RPM A-G intake has a port for a vacuum hose. Looking for any advise on what PCV to buy (parts store has many - go with std. Ford 302 spec that will fit into the VC or ??). Also is it necessary to put an oil separator into the line or just plumb it to the intake? I've read many posts about this setup but still not quite clear. This one of the best: PCV... yes another question

Thanks for advice, etc.

Hi,
If you have baffled valve covers then the PCV on one side going to the base of the carb and the other valve cover would need a breather to vent to the air filter. It's a simple system if the correct parts are used and the engine is in good condition. To test for cylinder sealing I would recommend a leak down test on all cylinders.
BTW, the PCV breather system is used to remove water vapor and blow by from the crankcase.

Thanks Mike. They are baffled valve covers. I have the cover pictured with vac. hose going to the air cleaner. Sounds like all I need is a pcv in the other valve cover running to the carb base. Any guidance on the "right parts" here or will any pcv that fits the valve cover work?

Photo from other thread below shows the system just as you described - thanks! I just have the find a grommet and the right pcv and where to get it into the carb base.

I had a big blowby issue in my 347 and had no option for PCV so I had two choices, crankcase evacuation setup welded into the exhaust or catch can. I tried the can first and it has worked great so far. I use to always get oil on my valve covers from being blown out the air filters on the breathers.
