They are pretty much the same as the 89-95 Mustang engine. 220hp 5.0. The only real differences is the style of the intake and what the pistons are made of.

hello gordon,

you mean its a 302? for some reason I was under the impression that it was one of the modular engines.

So it will pretty much take anything the 88-92 engines will take as aftermarket parts?

any negatives to this yr motor? if you had a preference which would you choose?

Yes it will take all the 5.0 parts. The only real dissadvantage of this engine is the hyperutectic pistons instead of forged. Ford quit using forged pistons in 92.

Don't the 94+ motors also use a short water pump and accessory brackets? I'm not sure if the front cover changed as well.

I was talking about the basic engine not the accessories. The 94-95 do use the short water pump, timing cover and balancer.
