Does anyone have experience with T and L Engine Development out of Stanfield NC? I'm thinking of putting one of their 347 stroker engines in my Coupe. By their web site, looks like a pretty reputable shop but I'm not buying an engine based on that.
here's their link http://www.tandlengines.com
Any input?

There have been a number of posts in the last year on this engine builder. They would be in the 2006 archives.

I got my engine from T&L, i ordered a 347 complete with everything, from carb to oil pan, that included starter, alternator, fuel pump, March pully set, and clutch. All that cost me $6760.00. It dyno'd at 440 hp, and 444 ft pounds of torque. Call them and talk with Lloyd, he's the owner and can answer any of your questions. They are great people to deal with, and they stand behind their product.

One of the local forum members here bought T&L 347 and has nothing but good things to say. So I called T&L and Lloyd answered the phone. Shortly afterward I purchased my 427W from them. Super nice folks that take the time to work with the customer. I'm awaiting delivery of the engine so I can't expand on that.

I have one of thier 347s. Lloyd and others there were a pleasure to deal with.

It's in the car, though, I'm not that close to firing it up. They appear to use nice bits and the care they take is apparent.

I checked them out well here and on other forums. I regularly see them in Ford oriented and other hot rod mags (though that might mean they're good or lucky with PR).

My only issue is how long it took. "We're great at building 'em and not so good with delivery". Order early.

Also be super careful with the selection process and when your final decisions are. A few small details were not right.

I sent them an oil pan and MassFlo manifold that they put on for me. The dyno was done with shop carb and manifold.

Best wishes with your motor buy.

Brian
453 HP and torque. I selected upgraded pistons and cam.

I'm still 3-4 weeks out barring any delays at T&L. I'll know it's close when I get the video of the Engine in the Dyno room at T&L. Shipping shouldn't be far behind. I have all the parts to install the motor aside from a few small bits and pieces. I hope I can get the engine in by late April early May but it seems like there's been more than a few on the forum having problems mating the Motor/BH/Tranny lately. My wiring is nearing completion now so it would be nice to have a first start before June 1st. I think I may be overly optimistic since I wasn't planning on being at that point until September. I'll post some pictures when the engine arrives and definately some video once I can get it started.

i have a MkII with a 347 from T&L (430hp) with TKO500, 8.8 and 3.55 gears. I'm not the most experienced car guy in the world, but i've never been in a car like this. Bought it used in November and have about 500 miles on it. I've only been on it really hard thru four of the gears once. I'm sure it's not twice because i would have remembered it...
