Been wrestling with this since last summer. Even when I think I have the pullies all lined up, the belt still leaves a fine rubber dust on the alternator and brackets. Can't tell quite where it's coming from specifically. I've adjusted and adjusted the pulley depths w/ washers, etc.

It doesn't seem to be dragging at all or chafing anywhere I can see, and I've tried a few different brands of belts. ARGH! It doesn't affect how it runs, it just makes a mess!

Any ideas?

Here's my setup (the crank, water and alt pulleys have all been replaced with new underdrive ones, though.)
