How much horsepower can I safely build with a Scat cast 3.85 stroker for a 351W? I will use a girdle and have forged rods and pistons. Scat told me it was good to 700 HP, but I think I would be pushing my luck. I am looking for a true 450 HP to the wheels and use in street, road course and auto cross. Please give me a little piece of mind, Thanks, Aron

That crank will be just fine for a 450RWHP set up as long as you don't spin ridiclous rpms. Most of the load on the bottom end comes from dynamic loading as a result of rpm more than the cylinder pressure. Keep the revs reasonable (below 6500) and you'll be very safe.
