Question Another Oil Cooler Question

Starting to assemble my parts list of things I need to order. Starting at the engine block I figure I need this - Oil Thermostat

Looks like I will need a couple of adapters from the thermostat to the hose like these - Adapters

Oil lines - Looks like, according to Earl's, for a -10AN fitting, I would need to use a 9/16" I.D. hose. I don't need 50', so will try to source that at Old Dog's - Oil Line

Oil Cooler - Not sure of the size, may call BAT to see, here are their offerings - Oil Cooler
I'm thinking the 10 row, 235 Matrix Cooler with -10AN fittings

Will need either 90 degree adapters at the oil cooler or 90 degree ends on the hose. Less adapters/connections, the better.

Thoughts?

I ended up having to use 45* 's instead of 90's because the 90's put it right into my x-brace using the Finishline remote oil adapter (http://www.finishlineaccessories.com...roducts_id=204). The 45's put it really close to my fan but it was workable. That looks like the same oil cooler and fittings that I used. I ran mine using 10AN line as well.

I used the finishline oil cooler which was the perfect size (http://www.finishlineaccessories.com...roducts_id=196). I also used the finishline shroud but I really had to chop it to make it fit. It would be just as easy to save your money on the shroud and bend your own.

Thanks! That's what I planned to do on the shroud after reading many on here ditching them. I just wanted to make sure no one did any other modifications like a higher volume oil pump, an accusump system or something like that.

I was told that you should be using -12AN for oil cooler lines for a big block..-10AN are for the small block guys..

Ideas..

I took my oil flow and filtering pretty seriously and chose to use a two filter remote setup which worked out real nice and looks great too..
Derale 15709 - Derale Remote Oil Filter Mounts
I also just installed the 13 row Mocal cooler, the shroud that everyone bitches about, (yes, it was a pain) which I drilled and grommeted for the 9/16 lines and the 90 degree 10an's.
System works great, looks great..cheap to build, can't argue with the logic of a second filter.
I will snap some pix for you later today.
