Radiator hoses

What did everyone use

I am running a 390fe with tank to a afco radiator.

The supplied FFR stainless tube is useless, can regular hoses be clamped to the stainless tube in place of the rubber eleeves that don't fit.

Really cant justify spending $210 for the breeze pieces.

The water pump inlet is waay to fat for the FFR supplied hoses.

I just spent 20 mins at autozone looking at all the hoses they have available...

There was one which looks like its very close to what I want for the lower and its one piece.

Will mock up and if any look interesting will post pictures and part numbers.

Save yourself the headache and buy from Breeze. It sucks paying that much, but they look and work very well when installed. After having the stainless hose just pop loose one time and dump all my coolant on the ground while idling in the shop i managed to justify the lower hose real quick. I don't advocate buying a lot of the stuff that some people sell that can be easily done yourself, but this is one of the few that i do. You are basically buying the steel tubing they have bent/flared/coated, the hoses aren't anything special just regular stock hoses.

I second the Breeze hoses. Buy them and forget it.

I found a Dodge Pickup hose for a V10 engine which looked perfect. It is a great fit.

The hose is 2 inch wide and the length and shape are perfect. On the radiator lower outlet, I needed to use the FFR supplied spacers and two clamps, very very happy so far with how it looks and fits.

For the upper, I used the stock 87-93 mustang upper hose with a adapter I found on ebay for $12.00. The aluminum adapter allows me to install a Sender unit for the fan which is nice

All in all my hoses and adapter came to about $55.00.

I will post part numbers
