Alternator Wire Routing

I am looking at how I have my Ron Francis alternator wire routed. It doesn't look like it will reach the Alternator. I'm afraid if I run it loose it will hit up against the headers. I'm just wondering where/how everyone else is running their alternator wire.

I ran mine out the firewall just behind the pass side firewall. At first i used stock brackets and run under the headers, it just barely reached, had to stretch. Now i have March brackets and I can lay it across the intake right next to the valve cover and it reaches just right. HTH

On the Mk4 I found that the RF alternator and solenoid wires were short for my desired routing (around rather than on top of the engine) so I extended them. Took them between the dash and firewall then out on the passenger's side and went forward along the upper square tube:

Here you can see that the wires are kept well above the headers before connecting to the alternator. You'll also see that I did a front mounted battery on this car and placed the solenoid on the front of the motor mount perch:

Good luck,
jeff

At least I know I'm not the only one who had an issue with it. Those photos really help. I think that I'm going to re-route mine through the passenger side firewall also. Very clean setup Jeff. Thanks guys.
