Help with 3650 trans issues

Hey guys, its been a long time since I've been here posting since my car was completed in '06. recently however the transmission has been making a lot of noise, kinda sounds like a supercharger whine. its in all gears and goes away with the clutch pedal pushed down (released). I think its the input shaft but I'll admit I dont know jack about transmissions. Its a 3650 out of a '02 gt.
#1 can i take this beast out without removing the engine?
#2 anyone have suggestions on a better replacement that will be a simple r&r
I think rebuilding it here on Maui will cost me $1500. any ideas will be much appreciated!

call mike forte he sells tremics. thats what i would do. a little more than a rebuild but its a lot better. well worth the money
