Coyote cooling fan

This is for installing the cooling fan using Factory Five's recommendation for coyote builds.

Is it just me or are the instructions from Factory Five not correct for wiring the cooling fan. To paraphrase, they say pull the fuse, pull the relay and tap in to the ORANGE wire (assuming Ron Francis wiring). I can't see how this makes sense. It seems like it should connect to the BLUE wire that goes to the fan. The orange wire goes to a switch for manual fan.

I wanted to start a topic so anyone using the F5 instructions is questioning this as well.

Anyone care to validate or disprove?

Thanks,
Alex

The cooling fan is controlled by the ECU. There is an orange lead in the Coyote harness that originates in the Power Control Box.

Yea I have the ECU orange wire squared away. However in the RF wiring harness, the wire from the relay to the dash switch is orange. From the relay (to fuse) to fan motor is blue. I dont get why they are splicing in to the orange line and then pulling the relay and fuse?

Dont use the RF at all. Just connect the Ford Racing wires to the wires on the fan and the Ford ECU will do the rest.

This is how I ran mine. I just want others to be aware that if they follow the instructions it doesnt look like the fan will work.
