Changing this to graduation post, as my Swan camera has an audio issue, which they will solve by replacing but that will take awhile.
So, car is done and is a blast to drive. It still feels so cool to look out in my garage and see the car I've been dreaming about for almost half a century. YIKES!
Lots of people to thank, in no particular order:
Ron Preston, Don Wood, and PJ Davis (local buddies who helped on the big jobs)
Tom Thompson of AMP performance (donor pallet)
Mike Forte (various bitsas)
Art Cuesta (WireDiet- great wire harness diet and sounding board)
Mark Doughtery (sent to my house by Factory Five, to weld on some missing tabs. While there, he answered two dozen prepared questions, removing much ambiguity from my mind. awesome help)
Jeff Kleiner (build threads and ready with answers to PMs)
Gary/gtfireftr (invaluable photobucket build photos and ready with answers to PMs)
Mark Reynolds (I ended up not going with one of his EzePaks, but he graciously spent an hour on the phone with me while I was formulating a build plan).
Jim Jennings from the build school (great instructor, and pointed me in the direction of a donor build when I was getting sticker shock over the crate motor/new parts build approach and about to abandon the dream)
Matt Gardner, instructor at Westminster High School Vocational Body Shop, who's team did bodywork and paint at materials cost, precluding me from going the dreaded rattle can flat black approach.
This forum, without which this newbie to car construction could never have finished the job, and which is so pleasantly free of flame wars.
Factory Five Racing, without whom this wouldn't have been possible
Carroll Shelby, ditto!

....thanks for letting me share in your dream.
Ron
Ron,
I sincerely want to thank you for helping me with the really hard stuff:
-removal of engine from k member
-removal of front uprights from k member
-dis-assembly of rear end
-separation of engine and transmission
-clutch fitment and joining of engine/transmission
-engine/transmission install
-electrical harness initial layout
-initial panel sizing
Your help was instrumental! It will be time for you to drive it like you stole it shortly at my "victory" BBQ.
Thanks again for all your help!

Saw your car this morning at Burtonsville. Looked for you but didn't see you. 3 Factory 5's this morning. Paint looks great! I hope you have as much fun with yours as I have with mine. Beautiful. And thanks again for the VEIP connection. Hope to see you again soon.
Pat (the blue one with no stripes)
Pat,
Was out gawking at all the other fine machinery (loved that fluorescent yellow smooth 50's low rider rod-it could be seen a mile away). I'll try and scout you out next time I'm there. Usually wear either a black Summit hat, or a blue/white Yamaha visor.
