power steering pump interference to steering shaft on a 4.6L?

seen all manner of posts on the interference of the power steering pump with the steering shaft. Is that with the 302/351 only or does it apply to stock PS pump location on the 4.6L also?

The manual says (Mk4 page 67):

On 96-04 EFI cars, the pulley supplied replace the A/C compressor
If you are planning on using under drive pulleys, do not use the template.
(have no clue what under drive pulleys are !?!??!)

If you are planning on running power steering the alternate pulley is not needed. You will
however need the power steering mounting brackets for a non A/C car.
Remove the A/C and power steering pump. Use the alternate drive pulley template to prepare the
bracket for the pulley.
Use the template in appendix A to drill into the original Mustang A/C bracket. (I don't seem to have an A/C bracket on my 4.6L it bolts right in)
If you are choosing to
run either A/C or power steering, you do not need to use this alternate drive pulley assembly. (Does this comment apply to 4.6L also?)
If you really want power steering on the car use the non-A/C power steering brackets from Ford to move
the power steering unit up out of the way of the steering shaft. (Does this comment apply to 4.6L also?)

my power steering pump is in the stock location and i have no problems.
as for the underdrive, it makes all of the accessories spin slower making up to 10ish extra hp. i read that is not true with the mod motors.
i think the other items are for the 302/351 options.
if you are not using a/c it comes with a delete braket look on page 228 of the base manual.

Wormie,
I didn't have a problem with the power steering pump. My problem was with the power steering reservior bracket. Needed to remove some of the bracket and shorten one of the bolts. I have the 98 4.6 DOHC.

Hum... PS reservoir is missing from my donor... Shattered, so I have no clue yet if this will be an issue... Currently concentrating on the EGR tube...
