DOHC oil cooler (adapter) leak

Anybody replace the o-rings and/or gasket seals in their DOHC oil cooler to stop an oil leak?
Where did you get the parts from and how much were they?
Research online shows them as dealer only and expensive (o-rings 25$, for special heat/oil resistant ones).
Some have sourced them via hardware stores using oil resistant/high temp ones. But I'm leery about that since it would be hard to insure the same spec's for material, size and hardness.

Any experience?

I have never owned one with the oil cooler but have replaced a few of the gaskets between the block and filter housing. If it were me Imight consider getting a non cooled adapter and go that route

What a timely question. I am currently prepping my 98 DOHC for installation into my MarkIII and I have the same question about sourcing the O-rings. Anybody out there rebuild their oil cooler adapter? I did see a post about separating the oil/water cooler with one of these. I might consider using that..

I don't know about the o rings and gaskets, but the adapter/cooler is factory only and are very expensive. If you have one that you are not going to use put it up on ebay. I sold mine on svtperformance in about 5 minutes for far too little money.

I used a Moroso kit to split it out and used a regular oil cooler. Someone makes a preferred kit, but I can't remember for sure who. Maybe Ford Racing?

I fixed my oil leak by simply tightening the oil cooler adapter stud. In my research I found high temp oil resistant Teflon coated silicon o-rings are the type used and will work if you get the right size. Source can be any machine parts supplier.
