3650 Tsb

Has anybody paid to have the Technical Service Bulletin performed on their 3650?
It's a Ford warranty job, it wasn't done to my donor, before it became a donor.
and I imagine my car is out of warranty now.
the 1-2 shift is a little more snickity than I'd like, and that's what this TSB is for.

Never even heard of it. Can you post a link or something?

I had a puddle of yellow fluid under my 3650 when I pulled the car out for a spin yesterday. Poor driveline is just totally falling apart. I plan to eventually replace it from the pulleys to the driveshaft, and probably just junk everything that is in there now. Ah, to have the budget...

Cheers, John

The transmission may also exhibit a jump-out from 2nd and/or 3rd gear. The condition may be more pronounced when the transmission is colder than 40° F (5° C).

The kit includes 2nd main shaft gear, 1-2 synchronizer assembly, 3rd main shaft gear, 3-4 synchronizer assembly, the 1-2 and 3-4 shift fork and rail assemblies, blocking rings and an oil fill level sticker. Add new transmission fluid and fill to the revised lower level. Refer to the following Service Procedure.

My donor is suitably afflicted... I mean covered, by this TSB. Had the local ford dealer run my VIN and it was not done to my car. So far my 1-2 and 2-3 shifts are smooth and haven't jumped out of 2 or 3. But, I only have 100 miles on it in the neighborhood go-carting. The local Ford dealer said mine was out of warranty (01 with 47K) and "couldn't help me" if it started later.

Wonder if Max at Five Star has handled any of these?

Max - are you out there reading this one? Let us know, and thanks.

John

Agreed! I'm curious as to what the cost of this package is.

Anyone got a clue what the puddle of dehydrated-urine-yellow fluid under my 3650 might be? I hadn't used it in six or eight weeks, and pulled it out of the garage this weekend. It was a bit of a mess under there.

Gotta replace that whole buggered driveline, I guess... Grrr...

Cheers, John

John,

Did you get any moisture into the bell housing? Under what part of the transmission did it leak? Any pictures? Oily? Watery? Smell? Any stray cats in your garage?

I think we need to start up a collection for you to help you with rebuilding your driveline. Count me in for $20.

John
