Anyone make a thermostat housing that combines the water filler neck? Here is one for a Chevy below; the SBF unit would have to incorporate a 90 degree elbow.

Here is what I did. I took a stock cast aluminum housing and weld on 2, 45 degree sectons to make a 90 degree bend to keep the flow passage smooth and height of the hose lower than my fill tank cover. Then I spent "some time" poislhing.

Lee - to answer your question...I don't think anybody makes one for the Ford. The closest thing I've seen is the custom one that Jim Pomroy had made, which of course resides on your dad's car!
I made this out of an aluminum housing, a billet filler neck and some 1.25" OD thickwall tubing. The outlet can be plain tubing if you don't plan on AN fittings.

Joe, what would you want to turn out another few fillers like that? I just found out today after some investigation that the cause of my overheating is the moroso POS filler neck not sealing right and I would like to eliminate the inline filler completely.
Aaron, the problem I have is finding aluminum thermostat housings. All the chrome ones are cast iron and NAPA carries plain cast iron. I can get them welded up for short money if I can get aluminum housings. I bought a 10 foot length of the tubing (for $2 a pound!). Get the housing and send it to me and I'll make one for you.
PS...the welds on mine are a little "knobby" looking, but the new guy I found will do a weld that looks like a row of tiny dimes. The guy is an aluminum artist.

Orange!: I have been trying to use the same one but getting the bypass nipple not to leak is an absolute bear. The nipple is a straight thread. Any comments on solving the leakage.
