I would like feedback from someone who has upgraded from the stripped donor power rack to the true manual rack. Did you like the change? Was it worth the expense?

100% worth the investment. Steering is much easier (I went with 15:1 Flaming River) and responsive. One of the best changes I have made.

I'm just starting my build. There was quite a bit about this recently and I decided to use my donor rack for a core charge and bought the rebuilt Autozone 18 to 1 manual rack.

Yes, the manual works better then the stripped donor.. But.. if I had a good donor power steering system I would put all that in place....I have driven that and it works great to..

I think it's a must have upgrade.

I had the donor rack on my car--before go-carting. I drove a friends cobra with a donor rack, and immediately called to get prices to swap mine. Way too much effort needed to go around a cul-de-sac.

I went with an 18:1 manual rack that I got from Whitbys. I also got the offset alum. bushings and have no-bump steer at all.

Personally, I'm with Al. I love my power steering on the Cobra. If the rack is good, put the PS in. You will not be disappointed.

I upgraded to the kit that Breeze sells. It looks and works just like the Flaming River. It was worth every penny.

I used the complete donor powersteering system on my Roadster, love it. All I had to buy was the Ford Motorsport A/C relocator bracket kit ($45) to mount the stock pump. All the stock hoses work.

I also just removed the Flaming River manual rack from my Spec Racer and install a Mustang PS rack and pump.
