Hey Mark Reid, your GT40 is now a Hotwheel!

Just saw this at the local Wally World. For those not in the know, Mark built an RCR GT40 years ago and then sold it to a producer for Fast & Furious 5. Pretty cool.

Don't think Mark has been around here is quite some time. Does anyone know where he is? He picked up a 65 Riv GS BS coded transmission for me that I paid $400 for a few years ago, and I never got it. Those are rare transmissions to come by, and I'm out it, and the money.

I'm in touch with him via FB.
He's a stand-up guy, not sure what happened with the transmission deal but doesn't sound like him to leave you hanging if he knew you never received it.

I'll message him.

To be fair, I had an issue arranging transportation from him to me, then I lost contact with him. He changed telephone, moved, no longer on the forum here, etc.

I didn't buy it from him, I bought it from someone close to him at the time. I sent him the money, and he paid the man, and picked it up for me.

Yes, I'm sure it was nothing intentional, and he really had nothing to gain other than a hunk of metal he probably didn't want or need.

Thanks Kiwi.

Rob, just sent you a PM (thanks for the heads up, Arran!). Tranny is safe all crated up under my workbench, just waiting to be picked up.

Had a job change, moved to Texas and I've been working like a dog. Just announced my retirement for the end of May (Yahoo!).

I want that Hotwheels! I have a picture in my office of the GT40 with Vin standing next to it that he signed (only one my wife could find of the car). Men come in my office and ask about the car. Women come in a swoon over Vin. They ask if I know him. I say no, but I know the car. They look confused and leave. Life is great!

Thanks all!
