Very interesting link, thanks Rob! I just forwarded it to a friend/client of mine who bought George Harrison's DB5 last year, right in the middle of the same price range. Maybe he wants to own all the Beatle Aston Martins, you never know...

Wow, that would certainly be cool if your client bought Paul's car as well. The auction is tomorrow I believe, so he had better act fast. Keep us advised if he does decide to snatch it up. Wish I had the means, as I'd be all over it. Love those old DB5's.
Heck, I'd just be happy if I could get my hands on an 07-08 Vantage for roughly 10% of the cost of Paul's DB5. Well, maybe I'll be putting the GN up for sale.

Don't be so naive! Everybody knows Paul is dead and was killed driving his Aston-Martin. Here's the proof, the doll on the cover of the Sgt. Pepper album with the Aston Martin model on its lap and the bloody driving glove:

Fascinating stuff.....never heard about the death rumors , and have most of the albums too.
Love the DB5 , had a neighbor who owned one that sat for many years because of a head gasket issue. Eventually a company in England started remaking them and he fixed it , sweet ride , I was all of 11 years old when I had my first ride in it.
Also had a flying buddy in 1980's who owned a silver one who had bought a spare engine with it new, just in case. Pretty cool in his garage with engine NOS still in its crate.
I never heard any of that conspiracy stuff before, either. Pretty wild, and worth the read for entertainment if nothing else! I think the only thing missing is a grassy knoll and a magic bullet.
My friend that owns Harrison's car e-mailed me back, and commented on both the unfortunate color of the McCartney car and the fact that it has been previously restored -- he feels that those two things combined probably cut the car's value in half from what it might have been as a "survivor" type of car. Of course, I don't know what condition it was in to start with. The Harrison DB5 is more or less just as it was originally bought (looks pretty good), and he will keep it that way as a collector.
Cheers, John

I was in college when the "Paul is Dead" rumor came out. Sure spread pretty quickly even without the internet. I'd have to think the story was a practical joke by the Beatles. Who else would be able to figure out there was a secret message in the drumhead on Sgt. Pepper that could only be seen by splitting it with a mirror unless you were the one that put it there? It has all the elements of a great conspiracy story with just a few nuggets of truth and then turn the conspiracy theorists loose to find more evidence to support it.
Yes, that conspiracy came out just as Abbey Road was released. On the cover of Abbey Road, Paul is walking out of step with the other Beatles. And there was one song if played backwards had a phrase saying "I buried Paul". At that time no one could do this at home so you had to rely on the DJs at radio stations to play a tape backwards. This probably was dreamed up somewhere to sell records but Abbey Road sold itself.

And he's the only one bare foot in the photo.
I remember the rumors, time to start them again!
That would mean the car's not worth much because it's really not Pauls.
