My wife has been diagnosed with her second recurrence of breast cancer in 10 years. She'd been having leg pain on and off for 4 months and mentioned it to her oncologist during her 5th annual followup visit. She scheduled a bone scan and a ct scan and jokingly said "see you in a year because it is just a sports injury". Well, after an abnormal bone scan and couple more ct scans, a bone biopsy and a pet scan, her breast cancer is now in her lung, liver, pelvis, and pretty much everywhere else. Our 10 year old is scared (almost as much as I am) and our 7 year old is not sure what is going on. It is going to be a rough road ahead, but we are going to hit this head on and do the best we can to fight it.
Thanks in advance for the good thoughts.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck."
