Unhappy 49 and soon to be unemployed

A similar thread was posted much earlier in the clubhouse as I agonized over the thought that this could actually happen (well, it has). Lost the lease on my bodyshop business, for the first time in my 49 years, I'm soon to be unemployed (no, I will not collect, even if I could) . Scary thought in this economy, but as I have never been in this position, I'm positive that I will find something else to do so I can continue to provide for my family. Just needed to get this off my chest this AM as I now have to figure out how to explain it all to my employees that we are shutting down this Friday (yes, I am searching for another location, but have been doing so for 4 months now without any luck). I had given them a few warnings that it could happen, but now, it has......

Bill S.

PS: Search Auctionzip for a November 3rd Absolute auction in Pottstown, PA, that will be my stuff feel free to spread the word and come down to bid on stuff. it all goes, regardless of price........

Sorry to hear this. I can only hope that something will suddenly appear out of the blue and save you some heartache. I know it sounds stupid but sometimes things happen for a reason. Every cloud has a silver lining. It is always darkest before the sun comes out etc....
I'm keeping you and your crew in our prayers. Praying for something good.
Paul and Kathy.

WHAT A SHOCK

Bill, Could you not buy the building and land? Did they even offer you the chance?

Without getting into the particulars, there are some potential liabilities that stopped me from buying the property.

"potential liabilities"

Bill, I'll read that as EPA-DNR nonsense.
Dude, you've always come across as one of the nicest and smartest guys on this forum. I'm sure you'll come out ahead in the end.

GOOD LUCK
Charles.

While we are not discounting that, Deb (she who must be obeyed ) has made minor suggestions of a move in to 3 season territory . I of course will go where the potential future job and/or business takes me now that Josh is all grown up and out of the house.

Sorry to hear this.
Found myself out of work a couple months ago. In the span of a month a new job found me.
Wishing you the same luck.

I followed the early breaking news of this in the Clubhouse before you went public with it and was hoping that an 11th. hour reprive would come for you. I wish you all the best Bill.

Here is the link to the auction in case anyone is interested:

Public Auction Sale: ABSOLUTE AUTOBODY SHOP LIQUIDATION - Pottstown, Pa

Tons of stuff not shown, but also included in the sale as I do not want to have to store any of this stuff at my house.

Sorry to hear this Bill. This is a tough economy but you're a pretty smart guy and you'll find something pretty quickly IMHO.

Wish I was closer to help with the auction items. Do you have any paints/primers you could sell separately that might work on my Cobra- I'm just about ready for paint?

I've owned property in Mass, I'd pass (no offense to those who still live there). If we move, it will be in a southern direction....Enough said

Bill S.

PS: I've already been offered a job in a speed/race related shop that I had worked at in the past....Again, I'm not ready to move, but when I do, it will be as "she who must be obeyed" commands
