GoPro Hero3... three of them! Can't wait to get the batteries charged up so I can play with these.

I've been thinking about getting a new one as they are supposed be easier to handle and use tha the old ones.....But I am also looking at the Contour HD or Contour GPS....
You'll love the Go Pro though. Takes great pics and vids. Hopefully you have a good editor software on the computer too.

I'm bias as the manufacturers rep group I'm with sells GoPro to independent outdoor retailers -- bicycle, skydiving, scuba, outdoor adventure stores. The Hero3 is brand new and not out to the public yet, release date it the 22nd. These are smaller than the Hero2, appear to have a longer battery life, better optics, built in Wi-Fi, comes with a dive housing for better underwater photography, and a bunch of other stuff. I've been using the Hero2 for quite a while and this looks like an evolution of it's predecessor.

They have 3 models, the black can take widescreen HD video at 60 frames per second, burst pics at 30 frames per second at 12 MP. White model does HD video and 3 shot burst. Silver splits the difference. All have WiFi control either using the hand held remote or using your Iphone or Android phone apps. Silver and black have wide, normal and narrow lenses included.

Interesting spec differences and pricing. I can see someone going for the cheaper white version at $199 since it has the same specs as the Hero2. But I don't get the silver version at $299 since the black version is so much more capable and comes with the wi-fi remote ($79 to get one for the silver version) for $399. So if you want the wi-fi remote the difference is only $20 to upgrade to the black version with twice the frame rate at 1080p and 3 times the fps for pics at 12MP vs. 11MP.

I'm going to get a Black at SEMA since they always have them on sale at the show.
