My son just arrived home from Afghanistan. His wife rented a limo to pick him up at Ft. Bragg. They live in a small town about 25 miles from the base. When they got close to the town limits a fire truck pulled in front of them and with lights and sirens, escorted them into town. At the main intersection the local police had traffic blocked and took over to escort them home.
Last week he was awarded a Bronze Star. This was his third deployment (2 in Iraq) and I hope his last. He will retire in two years. He is a Red Leg just like his Old Man! He has the hearing to prove it.

i admire military people, i've never done anything like that, nor do i have anyone in my entire family (current generation) that served in any of our armed forces.
anything military i like: seeing guys in public in uniform, war movies, military equipment, etc.
Hoorahhh, to him and his dad and hope he has an uneventful last couple years lead up to retirement.

Eddie,
Although you or your family may not have physically served in the military, at least being supportive of them and what they do is still honrable. A lot of people don't even do that.

Bullethole,
You should be proud. And we are proud to know him through you. Anyone that serves has my upmost respect. They and their families go though a lot for our freedoms. Here's wishing him a peaceful 2 years left of service and a happy retirement.

Awesome job Airborne. I loved my 11 years at Bragg, it's a special place. I hope he can finish out a fine career without another deployment. What a great welcome home.
