Going back to the hospital for an Echocradiogram.
A couple of days ago I noticed that feeling like something was sitting on my chest again. The same feeling I had before the repair operation. So I checked my blood pressure and it was very high. Like it was before the operation. Since my operation my BP has been very nice. Around 116/65, not 145/92 like today even. So I called the Cardiologist and they set up an appointment for the Echo. Said it is quite possible the repair failed suddenly. So after the Echo they will decide what is wrong and what to do now. Now that we don't have the insurance we had back in April, this is going to be bad if I have to go back in for another operation. $$$. I guess I'll have to wait and see the results of the Echocardiogram again. Which was $2,000 last time.....
Oh, yipppeeeee!

We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Hope for good news. You are probably just stressed over the upcoming election.

No I have not gone yet. Not until Thursday morning at 0730 that I need to be in to be admitted. Admitted? Well that doesn't sound good does it?
Last time I just walked into the room, took my shirt off, and laid on a table in a very dark room. Now I have to be admitted?....$$$$$ &6,000.00 deductible is not as good as what I had for the last operation. Only a $2,500 deductible..Last ultrasound I had was $4,000.00. I imagine I am having a esophageal one instead of the jelly on the belly kind... ....Ugh!

Cory, hope all goes well and it's something simple. We're all pulling for you.

The last thing you need to worry about at this point is the $$.
Go in - get 'er done and deal with it later.
I don't know how your insurance is structured but (if it's like most), once you satisfy the deductible and the co-pay, the big stuff gets paid 100%.
Maybe it's $2,500. or $5K - you can deal with THAT over time - it's the $140K that can wipe you out, eh?
Get well guy!

Thanks for the update. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. You would think that they would have a Jiffy Lube type of line for previous patients with a failed part. On the bright side, if they thought it was THAT serious, you would already be in the hospital. Get well quickly.

Well, I lived with a murmur my whole life, so even if the repair failed, I am just back to where I started. Hopefully, if it did actually come apart in there, they can fix it again. I just don't want a replacement and have to live with blood thinners and anti rejection medication. Then again I am praying for something simple, but I don't have a really warm fuzzy feeling.....
Even on Metaprolol my heart rate is back up to 89-90 bpm now. Used to be 65-70. Blood pressure is right back up there like before the operation, so everything is telling me in my head.....bad news. We'll see Thursday I guess.
Thanks for the well wishes. I really was hoping I wouldn't need any more of those for a long while.

An echocardiogram in a cardiologist's office should be in the 100's, not the 1,000's. If being done in the hospital it is 3 times as expensive (hospitals have better lobbyisits).
