F1 Silly Season Starts

Just announced that Hamilton will move to Mercedes from 2013 for 3 years taking Schumachers seat and Perez will fill Hamiltons seat at McLaren. Looks like Michael may be heading back into retirement..... may be

Niki Lauda is also taking a prime spot at Mercedes F1, with Brawn and Lauda Mercedes should be a formidable outfit.

So the next hammer to fall has to be Massa and who will take his spot. Perez was heavily rumored but now he is contracted so does Massa luck out and keep his seat? Does Michael go back to Ferrari?

Will F1 be in New Jersey next year? It was on the provisional calender released last week but when asked Bernie said it wasn't a done deal.

I was hoping Hammy would stay at McLaren, but maybe it will be a good thing for him. He has been with them since he was 13, so could be like leaving home for the first time. I don't imagine Schumacher's crash last week helped his cause any. Perez should be a strong contender in the upcoming years, McLaren is always in the hunt. I could see Massa ending up at Sauber, or will they bring up another development driver?

No matter how they all end up it has been a great season so far.

I have to say I feel bad for Massa.

F1 is tough on drivers, you don't perform your out.

I am kinda glad that drivers will get shuffled around.
Hamilton I believe is not happy with McLarren any longer and is not very useful to the team and the team is not giving him the car he needs to win. Fast, but unreliable.
He is like a whining baby. He never seems happy to be on the podium.
Schumacher, was one of my favorites, he does not have it any longer. He can't compete against the new crop and age and car are partially to blame.
Massa, was a great driver. I am not sure why he no longer is. Might have been the accident he had or getting burned out? Anyway, he is not even close to Alonso, and that won't cut it for the Prancing Horse.
I would like newer drivers to get into better cars. IMO Alonso is one of the great ones in the game. He wants the wins and he wants them bad. Vettel as well, but he does not always have the right judgment calls. From the new ones, Grosjean and Maldonado impress me, but they both have much to learn. I also like the Kimster. He is a juvenile prick with an attitude, but that makes him different than the rest. Plus he is fast and consistent, sometimes hampered by bad team strategies.
I love this season and can't wait for the upcoming ones.

It will be interesting to see if Hamilton loosens up and starts winning now that he knows he's switching teams. It will also be fun to see how Perez performs. Schumacher could pretty easily retire (again), and might be glad to do it after all the crashing he's been doing lately. My predictions are that Vettel will take the driver championship, and hence, Red Bull the constructor cup. Hamilton and Schumacher will be involved in more crashes.
