Went to order How to Build Cobra Kit Cars + Buying Used for Amazon and when I tried to check-out, it didn't offer a PayPal option.
Am I missing something?
geez, who doesn't take Paypal these days? (rhetorical question, don't answer)

Amazon has it's own system - Amazon Payments. I would imagine they would prefer to keep it in house
PayPal would be my last resort to pay for something.... It seems everytime I use PayPal I get some scam emails telling me my account has been compromised and I need to log in and do something - no thanks

And just try navigating the screens to deposit said funds into another account.
Plus, PayPal will debit against them in the event of nondelivery or a complaint. Its NOT like a credit card account where you can protest a charge and not pay. They take the money first, then you get to complain. Maybe you get it back after a few months of arbitration.
If that's not your experience, fine, others won't take the risk. As it stands, Paypal is a Ebay house financial scheme, not an internationally recognized credit device.
Who doesn't take Paypal is exactly the point. It's not major league.
Not exactly. PayPal started separate from eBay. It was purchased by eBay some years later because so many eBay transactions used it.
MPTech was exactly right. Amazon and eBay are clearly competitors, so no surprise Amazon doesn't take PayPal.
I don't know if others have noticed, but in addition to many other on-line outlets, lately I've noticed PayPal as an option on the check-out pad at many retail stores. They do seem to be expanding their reach. Edit: As also pointed out by dodgestang as I was typing.
Personally, I used them only for personal transactions (like this forum) where it's the most efficient option.
