Most popular music video? What is wrong with these kids today, first their planking, skinny jeans and now this?

Cool

It could be worse, they could like some of the stuff from our generation...

Show 'em Monty Python from the 70's where they "rode horses", what's old is new again (see 0:20 mark)...

I admit that I find it amusing in that sort of bizarre "Asians behaving strangely" way that is so hard to describe. I have to assume they see some of our American pop stars and have a similar "what is wrong with that round-eye and why is it funny?" type of reaction.

Has anyone looked up a translation of those lyrics? I don't get much other than "gangnam style," whatever that means, and "hey sexy lady."

The other thought/prediction that comes to mind while watching it is that it's ripe for Wolowitz on The Big Bang Theory to parody. He's a perfect character for it. Those of you that don't get the reference are missing one of the few funny half-hours of current television.
Howard Wolowitz - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Cheers, John

I find it entertaining.. And I saw him on SNL this past Sat.. FUNNY! Hate to say it but I like the beat.. I'll add it to my exercise / running Ipod play list..

Not any worse than some of the freaks we have here in the good ole USA..

I saw the singer on GMA while getting dressed for work last week. The song is making fun of this rich area in S. Korea (think the Korean equivalent of Beverly Hills).

His motto is: Dress classy, dance cheesy

The guy doesn't take himself too seriously and he seemed like a decent guy.

No harm, no foul...

Here you go John...

Gangnam Style lyrics

English Translation:

Oppa is Gangnam style
Gangnam style

A girl who is warm and humanle during the day
A classy girl who know how to enjoy the freedom of a cup of coffee
A girl whose heart gets hotter when night comes
A girl with that kind of twist

I’m a guy
A guy who is as warm as you during the day
A guy who one-shots his coffee before it even cools down
A guy whose heart bursts when night comes
That kind of guy

Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now let’s go until the end

Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style

Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

A girl who looks quiet but plays when she plays
A girl who puts her hair down when the right time comes
A girl who covers herself but is more sexy than a girl who bares it all
A sensable girl like that

I’m a guy
A guy who seems calm but plays when he plays
A guy who goes completely crazy when the right time comes
A guy who has bulging ideas rather than muscles
That kind of guy

Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Beautiful, loveable
Yes you, hey, yes you, hey
Now let’s go until the end

Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style, Gangnam style
Oppa is Gangnam style

Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
I’m a man who knows a thing or two
On top of the running man is the flying man, baby baby
I’m a man who knows a thing or two

You know what I’m saying
Oppa is Gangnam style

Eh- Sexy Lady, Oppa is Gangnam style
Eh- Sexy Lady oh oh oh oh

And from Wikipedia....

Gangnam is considered to be the wealthiest and most powerful district in all of South Korea. In order to be considered rich, it is said that a person has to live in Gangnam, with Korea at times being called the Republic of Gangnam.[2] The extreme wealth concentrated in Gangnam has been compared to cities such as Beverly Hills in California,[3] but has been considered by many to have no equivalent in the entire world[citation needed]. Its real estate is the most expensive in South Korea, and the value of its 15 square miles (39 km2) exceeds the entire value of the city of Busan, South Korea's second largest city. Combined with the neighboring districts of Seocho and Songpa, they account for 10% of the value of all real estate in South Korea.

It is pretty funny -I actually sat through it.
Fact is ,just like anything else rather than talent it is edited sight and sound.
Disney has perfected this with with their non-talents ,one or two seconds per shot and all modified sound.

I may be getting older ,but the movies and music today has been done already
at least once ,the new versions are just bad and cheap and those tight jeans...
What *%$$* *%s...........Just fewer men today I guess.
Make your little boy play with Hot Wheels instead of a computer ,he will be better for it.

that korean guy is pretty much Justin Beeber compared to what i'm into.

i can't comment about "kids" being into this stuff, but i LOVE IT.

these are the tame ones. there are crazier and freakier ones available for those who can stomach it.
