Anyone have a good contact in Blackpool England?

I want to get some parts from a guy but he won't do PayPal. He wants to do MoneyGram. I said no way but would he deliver them to a third party for payment on the spot and he agreed. So if you know someone well enough for me to send them $1800 and conduct the transaction, that would be great. Or if you know of a commercial way to do it.

It's probably a stupid suggestion if he won't do PayPal, but is escrow.com (or similar service) an option? I used that once long ago for a vehicle sale.

Cheers, John

Cool

Often, a seller's rejection of Paypal is based on their fee structure. Perhaps if you offered to pay the fee amount?

Here is a quote from one of his emails, "My
PayPal account is still under verification after I was conned by a guy
in Australia on Ebay so I will only conclude this transaction on the
confirmation of a deposit payment of $800 USD via Money Gram trusting
you to wire balance upon delivery of the supercharger."

What would you make of it?

Wayne,
If you don't have a solution by Monday PM me then (to remind me) and I will check with a couple of buddies at work who have connections in the UK to see if anyone is close.

Cheers, Rod

He says he's been scammed before by and out of country source and yet STILL he's willing to send you $1800 worth of stuff if you give him $800 and the balance after delivery.

Sounds like you are about to be OUT $800 to me....

What Andrew said.

He may be legit, but the odds are low. Just can't trust people these days, especially on the interwebs. Personally, I'd find someone to do the deal in person as you are trying, or I'd run.

Cheers, John

I've got an uncle in Nigeria that could get you a better deal.

x2 what Andrew and John said. Way too dangerous to send off $800 and hope he not a scammer.

The email suggests he does business on Ebay. Does he have lots of transactions and excellent feedback.

Good idea. Might need to check Ebay.co.uk to find him, though.

Wayne,

I think you are smart enough to know this one is a wash. Walk away from the deal.

I know he sounded like a scammer, was really good deal though. I thought if there was a local member that if the low percentage that he was real I could make it happen

There you have it, and in the UK too boot. Ask yourself just how that part came in to his hands in the first place (if it was actually real and not the scam that it is). Walk away, save your money, as this is a scam, no doubt in my mind.
