Kid learned a valuable life lesson. Or maybe he didn't... we'll see if he does it again.

Question Maybe....

Maybe the cat scratched/bit the child first is why he smacked it?

Then the lesson would be to pick your battles more wisely.

Hilarious. My kids pulled the cat's tail when they were little and got popped as well.

I was like Scalded's children when I was six and picked the cat up by the tail. It turned on me and tore my arm up good from the hand to shoulder. My parents responce was something along the lines of "I bet you wont do that again, now go get the peroxide and clean that up." Today the cat would be put down most likely.

Stupid parents - the cat's pissed off before the kid whacks it - ears back, flicking it's tail and standing its ground.

I thought the same thing. But it's still funny and I'm glad they caught it on camera and shared with us.

I'll assume the cat is declawed...

I think it probably is - if it did have claws, it would have been more likely to swat at the kid (and possibly scarring the kids face or giving him a corneal laceration) rather than shoving the kid off the bed.

Still pretty funny though. Hopefully the kid will think twice the next time, although given the genes he's inherited, probably not.

I was thinking about the possibilities of learned behaviors, but genes?

Sounds like some sort of racist comment.

It sure looks to me like a white kid. Reality check: it's impossible to say anything racist about us honkies -- it's always open season.

The stupid gene, for better or worse, is not race-specific.

Cheers, John
