Anyone have access to a waterjet?

I'm looking for a cutout of an AC Cobra (profile) to put on a weather vane. So, I need a profile to use and, if anyone has access to, a water jet to cut the metal.

Thanks,

Ray

Ray, I've been trying to find a Cobra wind vane for years. If yours comes out good, I'll buy one from you if you make a bunch!

Thanks,

Jon

I have one out above my toolbox in the shop, which was a gift from one of the guys that started Cutting Edge Replicas. I could make a photo of it when I am out there this weekend, and I bet it would be easy enough to turn that into a pattern. Would that be useful?

I have access to water jets and CNC plasma cutters, but all at a price -- no freebie-friends in the business since I left the Houston area. Can't help there.

Cheers, John

John,

A photo would be great. I'll send you my e-mail address via a PM.

I don't know what it takes, but apparently if you register at Blueprints.com you can get full size high-res images of the below drawings.

I'll let you know......(thanks by the way.) I wanted to see what was available for patterns before I approached a weather-vane company about adding my image to one of their vanes.

Looks like I need to get started.

Shane Vacek, a sponsor of this site, has a plasma table that he cuts semi custom stuff for this community on. It isn't free, but he has pretty good rates. I have been using him on the current project for a few months and the parts have come out well.

May want to give him a call or email.

Shane's stuff is very nice. I bought a set of louvers from him a couple months back and I thought they were laser cut not plasma. Very nice for a plasma part.

He obviously knows what he is going. If he wanted to add plasma cut wall art to his catalog I think he would sell quite a few.

There is a 3D model at Thingiverse: 1967 Shelby Cobra by wickedwillis - Thingiverse

There might be some 2D models out there if you look hard enough.
