Someone needs a spanking

I know she is a kid but at the level she is competing, she needs to show more sportsmanship.

That's funny, I noticed her during the team competition and was reminded of Tonya Harding. I got the feeling she was extremely focused on her events, wasn't too concerned about anything else and coming in second isn't an option. Not bad mentality for a competitor I guess, but some more class would be nice.

People(media mainly) are just making something over nothing. A photo just got took at the right time to catch the face and people ran with it. I feel bad for the female gymnastics girls because they train for a decade and only get 1 shot. It is not like virtually any other game where they can compete in 2-4 games.

I thought she was gracious and showed good sportsmanship when the scores were released too.

I think she knew she was at risk right when she fell on her ass and seeing the score was the realization of her perceived failure (although being 2nd in the world isn't something to be ashamed of).

Anyone can take a picture of a moment in time and it not be a reflection of what happened at that time.

Did you guys see how awesome she was during the team final. She's a big part of us winning the team gold.

She's probably had too many life lessons from Ricky Bobby.

Personally, as much as I generally loathe watching the gymnastics stuff, I have been amused at the pouts and lackluster sportsmanship from that little Russian diva. I'm rather proud of the fact I don't know her name.

Cheers, John

16, which is OK in US territorial waters, Indian Reservation, and probably still a few states.

Just jesting... Of course....

and yes... Disciplinary action only...

Truly though - it's got to be hard for her.. Train that long to excelle and oming up in second place. That would have to be a momentary let down.. Thousands of camera shots and certainly tey had to choose the worst...

One thing, is she is out there all by her self in front of all those people. She can't hide behind a team. At that age I was still picking my nose. Give all of them a break. What were you doing at 16 years old? I wasn't on the world stage that's for sure.

Ok so nobody else has had their nose itch and made that face to alleviate the sensation when putting your hands up would be inappropriate or not recommended (greasy)...

Agreed. It reminds me of the young girl who was shown on video making a slight face before Susan Boyle's performance and ended up getting multiple death threats. I sometimes make a face like the 1st pic if I'm just thinking hard about something.
