Awesome. That was a lot of hard work, by a lot of dedicated people.
Goes to show you NASA is not dead.

Would have loved to been there just to watch the whole process. Saw the vehicle for the first time last night on the news. That thing is huge.

I think before it dies in a few years it should go rescue the other two rovers, fix the broken wheel, dust off the solar panels and see if they can get Spirit up and running again.

My real hope is that someday a human will find them and bring them home to the Smithsonian.

Pretty darn cool! Stayed up to watch it live on the link shrakx posted and had to switch over to the NASA feed because Bill Nye the Science Guy would not shut up through the whole thing!

Is that a wheel?

Watched it last night. Pretty cool indeed. Noticed a fairly cute scientist chick as well, sitting there in the propulsion lab. I'd hit it.

High Def Pics of Curiosity Decent.

First full HD video of Curiosity descent. [VIDEO]

Pretty cool but the CG version was more exciting. I believe that's the heat shield popping off in the beginning.

The JPL also has a version slowed down and synced with the audio from the JPL.

Saw that last night. Very cool and if you watch closely at the 21-22 second mark you can see the heat shield hit the ground (bottom just right of center).

Thanks for the real video. They are so much more real and interesting for that reason.
