Bear in my neighbors house......

I woke up to see blue lights flashing in my window at about 2 am this morning.
Seems the neighbors left the slider door to their deck open with only the screen door closed to keep the bugs out. Well they were not counting on a bear deciding to see what the inside of their house looked like. Ripped up the sofa, wrecked the cabinets getting at the food etc. The owners heard the noise looked to see what it was and called 911. They stayed in the bedroom with the door closed until the police came. Not sure how they got it out of the house. I leave my doors open all the time. The indoor cat loves to sit there at the screen door all day. Watches the Chipmunks. Not anymore.....

Yawnnnnn.....

Probably just a bored juvenile bear that took advantage of the situation. I blame absentee bear parents and society in general.

There should be a government program to prevent this kind of thing from ever happening again. Maybe screen doors should be outlawed for the general good of the people?

What do they eat on the couch that it tore that up as well?

As for the cats, I would leave the door wide open to let the cats out but the wife would have a fit.

I have 2 "vicious" labradors that patrol the grounds for intruders. 1 that's tied up and another that can barely walk. But so far, no bears in the house. Guess they do the job.

Perhaps the bear just didn't like their taste in decor?

Update!

My wife just called me at work. Seems there was another Bear home invasion yesterday a few streets away from us...I have not heard how much damage this time. She was told they saw it again and think it was at least 7 feet tall as it tried to stand up in the house and hit it's head on the ceiling.....I guess there were clumps of fur left in the textured ceiling stuff.....Yikers!
Time to break out the .50 cal.....

When the bear heard that you didn't build that, he figured the house was community property.
