I've been up in a couple of those things. The landings always seem to come up very quickly.

... and there is no coming around for a second try.

The terrain looks like the San Diego area.

Isn't every landing in a glider a "emergency" landing considering you only get one attempt?

Pretty good considering the terrain.

Had a few outlands in a few places in the past, never had the misfortune of being in that kind of terrain or over built up area.

One of my friends ended up over an informal settlement and had to choose to put it down in an alleyway, tore the wings off but he and his passenger walked away with zero injuries.

Old Ask 13 wooden glider thankfully, if he had been in our clubs fiberglass twin , would have been worse
