Volvo Pickup?

Hmmmm.....Interesting at least. Not that bad looking either. I'd buy one for errands....

Kinda cool. I'd rather have a Tacoma sized truck with small inline diesel sporting good mileage and fair towing capacity...I don't think we will ever see it.

Volvo would never make anything that good looking.

Calling it a pickup is a bit of a stretch. The spare tire doesn't look too practical either. But it does look cool.

While in Australia last year one of my friends had one of these

TOYOTA HILUX SR5 (4x4) KUN26R 08 UPGRADE DUAL CAB P/UP - Kippa-Ring - QLD - $*42,990

It was an amazing little truck
But you're right we won't see them here

Havn't seen anything like this since the late 70's, well El Camino was around in the 80's but smaller. So, what ever happened to the Ranchero or El Camino?

Again in Australia they have a great pickup ( they call them utes) that reminded me of the El Camino style
I believe they also have a diesel option

Agree that we'll likely never see it ..... the Volvo pickup or the described diesel powered Tacoma sized truck.

Most of our elected officials and other bureaucrat's (like California's AQMD) seem to hate diesels almost as much as they hate coal ....

YMMV

That would be perfect. I read an article a while back(probably posted here) that claimed we will never see them because they can't meet emissions standards. However, if the geniuses would factor in fuel efficiency and the overall reduction in total exhaust they would...

I have an 07 S60R and really like it. I think it was well worth the money I paid. Its pretty quick and handles great for a comfortable 4 door. It is the first Volvo I have bought. MIne looks just like this. The interior is a metallic blue color, pretty cool

Maybe it will be like the mini van. England and other foreign countries have always had smaller variants of what we had. Maybe the UTE will show up as we Americans downsize so much later than everyone else.
Kinda like houses....

Maybe the next Factory Five kit?

Prediction...

If they build it it will not look as good as that (mostly because the ride height will be higher and the wheels will be smaller), it will be front wheel drive and it will have a weak-ass engine.
