Kids are experts at bring the car home on fumes, so Dad has to fill it up again..if he can even make it down to the station..
LOL, good deal. My way of dealing with it, is that she is simply too young to drive. She can wait a couple more years. Unfortunately, for some odd reason her granny bought her a new car on her 16th, but it just sits in front of the house with 1" of dirt on it.

Louisiana is raising their requirements for first time drivers. New drivers will have to complete an 8 hour driving course at a recognized driving school. This has the effect of raising the drivers license fee for first time drivers to a little over $400.00, this only applies to first time drivers under 18.

We already have that in effect in California. The driving school teachers are washed up hippie drug addicts that talk about their personal drama during class time. I guess i could see how that would help my kid...

Not at all like drivers ed class when I was growing up. For us it was a public school summer school class after you turned 15. I think it was two hours of class time every day for two weeks before you actually got to drive. Driving was 4 hours per day for two weeks with the time split among two other students in the car. The in car instructors were all male high school teachers and coaches who were mostly just interested in picking up some extra cash over the summer. The instructor I had was one of the assistant football coaches who swilled coffee and chain smoked the entire time while the students drove him all over town to run errands like picking up dry cleaning or shopping at the hardware store. We also had to stop at a gas station at least once every hour so he could take a leak and get more coffee &/or cigarettes. My buddy Doug had our wrestling coach as his instructor---if he made a driving mistake Coach Huffer slugged him in the arm! Ahhh, those were the days...
