Look the the north, it's only going to be a max of 18 degrees above the horizon. You can't miss it, trust me on this. It will be moving from the north to the ENE.

As a side note Monday June 25th it will be almost directly overhead.

It's going to be low in the sky, but a nice long (3 minute) flyover.

Look for the star thats moving off to the north.

The visibility of the passes vary greatly - you have to catch it while it's still in the sun and you're dark.

Monday the 25th looks like it will be right across the top of you... Those are *usually* pretty good and easy to see.

Check out their Sighting Help page.

Thanks for posting Al. That same pass is going to be a 4 minute - 74 degree elevation pass for us.

Excellent pass for us. Clear skies, 5+ minutes and almost directly overhead.

It was dead nuts on time. It was only a little red spot.. I would have thought it was just a plane if I didn't know better.

Next Wednesday it should be higher for us in the SE. Everytime I've seen the ISS it's been a bright white dot. Being low on the horizon the extra atmosphere must have made it red. I tell my grandson it's a flying star with people living on it.
About the timing, they're pretty much on schedule.

If you like the ISS, try spotting an iridium flare. Gotta be quick with those.

In a prior life I was a lecturer at a California observatory. One night the ISS was heading over head at dusk followed by the Sputnik supply ship. At the same time there was an Iridium Flare. It was so cool to march the group of about 40 into the field next to the observatory and point out the ISS. Then in the midst of the "ooohs" and "aaaahs" get their attention and point them to the spot where the flare was to show....then have that go off for a couple of seconds to another round of applause.....

Then the unexpected. For an encore - a meteor bisected the sky between the flare and ISS. It was too cool.

Afterwards one lady walked up and thanked me for scheduling the flare for them - thought it was so thoughtful of me.

For ISS passes and Flairs you might want to check Heavens-Above Home Page
