Two stroke Blendzall in my 73 CR-250 Elsinore. Loved that bike...
Mike I had a 72 Penton Jackpiner (175cc) and a 74 Maico 440. The Maico was such a riders bike and a real torque monster. I miss that thing too.
I remember the first time I saw the 250 Elsinore, It was a very sexy bike.
I saw one on ebay in mint condition a couple of months ago. It was at over 5K and the reserve wasn't met yet.

WOW, this thread really got me thinking of smells..
You guys have really hit on some of the most common thatdo it for me like the smell of rain, plowed fields, nothing like the smell of real good earth, various baked goods, bread and the like, but what I really remember from my younger days, and still like, are the following.
Grainger or Captian Black pipe tobacco.. it reminds me of my father. He passed away 25 years ago. I still see him when I get that aroma.
Another smell that has stayed with me was the garage that started my learing with cars. They used to rebuild Offenhauser engines. I don't know what the difference was, but not many shops smell like that. Maybe the mixture of things from oils with methonal and nitromethane residue, and soother solvents. Just a few months ago, I pulled a shop towel from our rag bin and that smell hit me.. took me way back to that garage.
Real cool thread..thanks,
Skip

My first thought was the smell of the pine trees on our land in the Black Hills. My second thought was a remembered smell associated with something not so pleasant.
When I was in High school I was involved in a car accident that to this day I have no recollection of. However, I can recall, even after almost 45 years, the events and route I was taking prior to the accident and one was passing a bakery and the smell of fresh bread.

Many have been posted already, but a few I really like are mountain mornings, a pasture after a rain storm, woodburning cookstove, new carpet in the house, turkey in the oven, those pine tree car smellers!

I also love model airplane fuel burning with 20% nitro.

Baby hair, esp. after a bath...
Master bath, after wife is done primping and makin' herself purty...
Hoppe's #9...
My garage after starting the beast...
Burnt jet fuel...

Fresh smell of salt water from the docks around Puget sound or the mouth of the Columbia River. I loved cleaning Salmon on the dock in Warrenton, Oregon, when we came in from deep sea fishing when I was a kid. Gregg
The smell of Tattletales in Atlanta. My first wife was the top girl there in '86. When she came home she smelled like the air freshener they pumped into the place. It was so strong I could tell when my customers (I was a bartenders at Ladies Galore) had been to Tattletales.
Puppy breath.
The docks in Destin where the sportfishers dock.
Fresh blood from a bloody nose (when I give one not get one).
A new baseball glove with glove oil on it.
The smell of a structure fire when you pull out of the firehouse at 0300 and you can smell the fire that is a mile away before you get off the ramp.
One of my rippers after eating a big bowl of deer chili.
Cotton candy.
A natatorium (I was in one today).
Wet hickory when splitting wood.
Red oak hardwood floors after they have been sanded.
A new leather jacket.
Garlic when cooking spagetti.
New $100 bills, especially when there is a big pile of them on my desk.
The way the house smells when cooking pot roast.
A gallon zippy of purple sticky bud (I haven't smelled that in 30 years).
Deer jerky.
Fresh sour earth when the 963 rips it open.
Got side tracked, most of my items aren't "places". :homer:
Yeah buddy, you are the man. High Five a guy that marries a stripper!!!!

Fresh baked bread. We lived over my mom's bakery when I was growing up.
Hot, humid cedar in the sauna at my cottage.
A little beer in the water thrown on the rocks in the sauna. That's a hard one to describe.
Finnish pancakes (lettu) being cooked. My Dad (RIP) made those every Sunday morning when I was a kid.

Wow, the first thing I thought of when I read the title was the Wonder Bread factory in Natick, MA. Then I find out that Mike Forte, Cobra Cory, and Shawn all mentioned it too.
We'd go there on field trips when we were kids. If you drove anywhere that was within a mile of the factory it'd smell like freshly baked bread. It was awesome.
