I've seen ridiculous battles about numbers of posts in other forums. It got to the point where people were writting out sentences using one letter posts.
The mods over there made the thing it's own thread, kinda like I imagine the "The Last One To Post Here Wins" thread, although I wouldn't really know as I have never read it. Anyway, this is the catch 22 of requiring post counts before using a feature...stupid useless posts.
Although some new posts are always welcome, and many probably think the majority of MY 6000+ posts are stupid and useless also!
Anyway, I do understand the reasons behind doing this, and I do believe the forum community will be better off in the end for the requirement.

Crash needed to post the above post to break 6700, congrats Crash.
Being in the "I want one" group rather than the "I have or am building one" group I don't have all that many posts but can read the classifieds. I don't have the desire or need to post on them right now so that works fine.
I'm on several different forums and have seen a lot of spam in the classifieds on ones that allow first time posters to post in the classifieds. I've also seen a huge number of individuals on one board who only belong to the board to be able to post in the free classifieds. I rather like the idea that only active or supporting members can post in the classifieds.
it looks like you must have 25 post to look at classifieds. is this correct? im new here and kinda learning the ropes. is there a rules section? i have not stumbled upon it yet
