I did copy someone's idea for this but here is what I did! Using this type of mount allows the normal operation of the safety features of the C5 seat belt locking mechanism. The left and right are a little different, but with a little work they can be made to work. The mount was made out of 4130 chromium-molybdenum steel. The picture with the "white" lines are where the FFR mount may be cut off if desired. There had been a great concern about altering the seat belt per the FFR instructions. I beleave safety must come first!!! They work for I have tested them. Don't look too close at the paint job, looks like I painted it with a pine top!!! (Little Southern humor)

......MikePMS's brackets...power seat , no doubt the way to go. Another concern is the receiver's location. The factory mounting point is too far aft and it gets worst as you move the seat forward.
Thanks guys, I was unaware of the issue. Burnett seems to know his stuff and I gather that the original FFR gen 1 setup is not safe. DM65 your brackets looks to be as per Burnett's recommendation, can you post a dimensioned drawing of them so we can get them made by local shops?
Sorry I don't have a drawing. Made in pieces and welded it to fit FFR's bracket. But the bracket itself is bolted in using the insisting holes in FFR mount. I looked at Mike's picture and made them from that. If Mike is making them, that's the way to go!! Sorry Mike I din not know I was taking some of your business!!

I did the exact same thing. To fix do this - put the new bracket in a vice and install one of the "little things' and see if the belt will pull out. Keep swapping them out until one works. Them go to the next belt reel. That's how I got mine to work. Seems kind of time consuming, but once you get one to work there's only three left! And so on and so on. The belts will only work if they are at the correct angle and the correct gizmo is in place. Hope that helps!!

Thank you Vidal! The picture says passenger seat belt. Does that mean it is the GM seat belt with the "L" left label (since we switch them in the GTM)?

"L" will be the driver's side seatbelt for both the donor and now the GTM if you're using Mike's bracket.
The pictures were originally posted by Mike (The Stig) in his thread on the other forum. I saved them because I need to reconstruct my mechs also.
