No disrespect to the Pantera, it's a great looking car. But if you watch the show, they gave the GTM a performance rating of 20 out of 30. That car will blow any of those other cars away. If it had gotten a the top performance rating that it deserved of the four cars, it would have won their "challenge".
And I seriously doubt that the Firebird's horsepower was around 700 as the owner claimed. Not with that 455/466. Maybe with a shot of nitrous. I've got a 455/462 in my Buick GS convertible. I'm very familiar with these engines and if it had 700 hp, it would not be very street-friendly at all. That car would be running in the 9's and idling at 1200 rpm's.

You're referring to the My Ride Rules GTM episode with the Nuclear Banana aren't you - not Battle of the Supercars (GTM versus Gumpert)? On the My Ride Rules episode, the older guy rated the GTM's performance down because he basically admitted that the performance was too much for him and said it "belongs on a track". When that's a reason to downgrade a car's performance rating, surely solid virtues have perversely become nonsensical vices?
To summarize, the GTM blew their minds and they lost braincells as the G-forces took hold. If you rate a car's performance down because it has too much, something's horribly askew.
