Do the loops in the brake lines serve a purpose? It seems like it would be a great place for air to hide.

Well I sure am glad that is done! Attaching the AC ducting and securing them was a serious dexterity/patience challenge.
Made some more progress on my rear hatch latch to. It is starting to take shape and making the bracket strong enough while still looking OEM-ish is proving to be difficult. I am not sure if I will keep this version and will wait until I make the deck cover before deciding to keep it or start again.

If you do not put a loop in the brake line it could stress crack due to vibration in the vehicle. If the brakes are blead properly the air will be foced through the line and out the bleader

Steve,

The coils and/or bends allow the lines to flex in multiple directions so the metal doesn't fatigue and fail.

Also, the coils are known as a service loop. They make it easier to bend the hard lines out of the way when servicing or replacing the master cylinders. It's much easier to "square up" the flare fitting when installing to.

With some help from my Dad (X Body Man) we installed the doors. Also with the lathe he machined up some new door posts. What a task to compete.

Alt - water pump belt

I have been thinking about building a cover for around the tensioner. Is it needed? Just looking at what will happen to the cover (water fall) if this thing lets go. I have made a yellow line in the picture.
Thanks,

Pass door

My first attempt at the passenger side window has been very challenging. As I keep adjusting the tracks and position of the window it just keeps getting smoother and smoother.

Edgeman my cover has a mark in it from the pulley already, fortunately it is only in the insulation. I fought the fuel tanks today for the second time. Richard.

Successfully ran my double 9" clutched procharged GTM today, but only saw 8 psi on the guage... Im loosing air somewhere and think its my godzilla BOV spring is wore out. After 20 minutes running the streets, I got home and transmission temp was just warm enough that it wouldnt burn your hand to touch it.... man what a difference between that and the turbo temps I once had ! This car is MADE for a procharger and its not hard at all to set one up on the transmission side !

??? Procharger running off a jack shaft? I would like to see a pic of that. Just trying to wrap my head around it. Prochargers can make some serious power.

Mounted Shanes wing mounts. Made brackets for and mounted the transaxle and engine oil radiators. mounted the dry sump oil resevoir. modified and mounted my Kirky seats for more layback. The seats are also modified to shift the seat as close to the tunnel as possible. This lines up the seat closer to the centerline of the steering column and get my head away from the halo bar. The seat bottom is on the floorboard for maximum head room.

Made an aluminum bracket for the transaxle oil pump. Powdercoated and mounted it. I also trial fitted the exhaust pipe.

ISIS screen

After asking kempo to use his idea for the ISIS inTouch screen, this is my second attempt. I really did not like my first attempt. After a few more hours yesterday and a couple more today I think I am done. I went to the upholster today to get some ideas and after talking to him looks like I will not fiber glass the main parts.

Finalizing the driver's door to ensure I can take it apart and put it back together without issue. After talking to Mike (MikesPMS) on modding the doors to get the window glass to go down as far as possible, I fabbed this simple bracket.

The window now goes down as far as physically possible (which is about 5/8" from the top of window opening.) But the wiper conceals most of it.

The bracket tucks the top of the motor under the lower door frame bar. Haven't decided if I will rivet or weld it on yet.....

Thanks Mike.

I installed the undercarriage aluminum with Helicoils and bolts. This is so I can have complete access to the car from underneath. I also replaced the stock kit parts with the vented parts from Vraptor Speedworks.

Wrapping Up

Last Saturday I dropped off my GTM to Ted for the suspension upgrade. In his garage is 2 GTM's and a couple of other really cool cars. I will let Ted expand. Probably a month from complete, finally! (only 5 1/2 years, thanks recession)

It seems like I have been working on the hood louvers forever. I worked with the kit louvers for a couple weeks before I decided this really wasn't working out. I switched to Shane's hood louvers and got them installed over the course of 4 evenings (I'm working on a bunch other things as well).

Super Car Build: Hood Louvers

I finally got around to writing up my hatch popper install. I finished this up mid September.

Super Car Build: Rear Hatch Release Popper

I'm still about 12 tasks behind on my documentation!!

Hey DocGlock, enjoy reading your build site.

For installing the helicoils, there is enough material to 'grip' in the steel tubes? Material isn't too thin?

Thanks for the tip, definitely considering those over the rivnuts.

Thanks
Aman

I like this idea. I wonder if it would graft into the gen 1 hood?
