Mr Presto51, last I remember reading this was a post started by VD2021 about things you might have done on your GTM today. I would like to ask, since you seem to have the need to insert your opinion several times on this topic, what you have to add to this forum page that has anything to do with the topic at hand ? You like to keep the post off topic so much Im beginning to wonder if you will ever have something postitive to add to it ?????
My humor to Crash was taken appropriatley by him and since he was the person it was directed to, I cant comprehend why it has to mean anything other than that to anyone else ( a humorous statement ).
Like say if I use the term ass.. As in down on the farm today my ass was hooked to the plow all day and turned out a good row of potatos. No harm in that statement whatsoever. Now if I take the same spelling of the word and say " Gee that Presto51 sure is being an ass about beating a dead horse over and over again" .. .then I would concede that would be an offensive post. NOTICE THE SAME SPELLING OF THE TWO WORDS, the only thing that changed was the context which they were used. Hence the idea that "LOL" at the end of my statement would indicate a non-offensive tone. Glad I could help you figure all that out buddy.
Here maybe this will help you out some as well.

iron man I think your battery is no good I have seen some hold a charge for a short time and then just go dead. also I have had alot of friends with optima batteries have trouble buy a new regular battery and see how it goes.
by the way how in the hell or you push starting your car to get it running, that takes some talent I would run myself over before I push it ,get in it , pop the clutch and drive away !!!!!!!!!!!!
Its only possible by myself on a slight down hill grade somewhere nearby... and even then very difficult. I would post video of me doing it, but im sure I look absolutley retarded trying to get in with the car with it rolling ( no disrespect to true people with a retard handicapt out there).
Is there a way to tell what the voltage should be when cranking on the car... what would be a normal cranking voltage ? Its like im getting a false reading or something cause 12.5 should work, but then doesnt somehow cause I cant see what its reading when turing the engine over.
the voltage is not the only thing that starts up the car it is the amps . I have seen batteries that have 12v but have bad cells in them and can not start the car. they also seem to go dead very quickly like you described
Went to visit the body shop to drop off Thomas#142 "CARBON FIBER WING".... first in exsistance. As well as the side 1/4 scoops, the larger air intakes and the carbon fiber roof sccop.

Is the wing meant to be functional?

Well I think that all depends upon what you mean by "functional". I believe, looking at the posted picture, that the wing in question is the bridge between the two rear fender humps. Shane has used this wing a couple times also, and while it looks realy nice, and depending upon how it is fastened it could function as a nice hatch handle, if you are talking about functioning as a down force generator...I don't think it would be considered very "functional". Never had one in my hands though, and this is just based upon the pictures I have seen. Don't get me wrong, it looks really good, but IMHO won't do much for downforce.
Tom built the rear wing primarily for vehicle styling and as a hatch securing solution. I'm certain he'll tell you that aerodynamic functionality played a minor role as he created it.

Yes the want for the wing was based on looks not downforce. If it does nothing else other than look kick ass, than I am good. I'll get closer pix when it is put in clear next week.
i cut the studs on my rears to fit the spacers for my wheels, aligned the body,(had to pull it 1/4" to the pass side at the back) had to move the pass side door striker braket 1/4 inch forward and cut 1/8"outside part off driver door striker plate.) its perfect now. finished fitting shanes storage bin (which was easy and very cool, would recommend it highly if you want some storage). put in shanes stereo closeout. drilled about 300 rivet holes.lol finished bonding the roof scoop and the thomas 1/4 window scoops. recieved my standalone harness that i had current performance modify. they did a great job modifying my engine harness, rewrapping everything and making it look great for 400. they also sold me the correct computer and programmed it for me. (they have done gtms before), painted shanes isis mount panels.(also very cool) talked to shane for while, sent ted an email about using his tanks.
thats all folks.
been building custom cars and machines for 30 years, am getting too old for this.lol
this is the last one im going to build and its for me. :-)
Installed the Kooks headers, Also ISIS master cell, power cell and mega fues block. reworked the rad hose upfront to allow the front power cell to fit on the drivers side. Getting close to needing that Mendeola transaxle.
I sand blasted the last of the chassis last night. tonight I will prime and paint it. This has been the hump to clear since I started cutting and welding and grinding for the last 4 weeks! Additions and deletions from the last 5 years of racing. Time to start at the beginning: food good-fire bad. A few things I did this year to the chassis: front skid plate, sway bar brackets with controller, tank straps, oil tank straps, wrap around dash, battery box relocation, new dead pedal, new fuel cell trays, new firewall, new toe link supports, new location of rear lower control arms. that's it for now.
Tonight, the final painting on the chassis and related components. Saturday we will be assembling sheet metal. and suspension. Roller and dash in by Sunday!
Took the GTM down from the jack stands Sunday after almost two months. Took it for a drive this evening, around the neighborhood, to test the magnasteer power steering addition.

I had installed the fix for the belt pulley from Shane At VRaptor. I had to get my lathe out and cut it into two pieces, then machine the ends down. With out the lathe would have been hard to get them straight. Also had ordered the hatch props will install at a later date. Thanks again for the great work Shane.
You design, build and I will buy!
