Today, I cut up a road sign and made new rear fender liners that got wrecked in the crash. Jim sleeved the hinge mechanism on the gas pedal. We re hanged the doors again and got them to latch with almost no effort. I put new rotors on.
I cut out the door panels and put speakers in... just killing some time really, it's going in for paint tomorrow. I'm kind of at a stopping point untill I get paint on it. They tell me it will be done the first week of December.
Finally choose the body color. Also photo shopped the wheels and came up with a two tone plan for the powder coater I really like. White face, black accents and chrome deep dish lip.
This weekend I came close to finishing the major body work on the driver's side - and only because I have Ron's (Presto51) help and expertise guiding me every step of the way. It is a huge benefit having someone who gives freely of their time and happens to be a body shop guru. So here's a public thanks to Ron for all his help - Thanks Ron!
This picture shows the main areas we concentrated on - front wheel well and hood gap, shaved door handle, and full side scoops:
Here are some close-ups of the front wheel well / hood-body gap and shaved handles / full side scoops:
And finally, a shot of the roof scoop (coming along nicely) and the hood radiator vents:
I wont have any time to work on the GTM for the next few weeks, but when I do I'll try to finish up the passenger's side as well.

I know this will come as a shock to all you guys, but I cut the body up some more this weekend. I'm up to 32 pieces that I have cut this body into...so far!

I managed to sneak about an hour tonight to finish off the passenger side exhaust and induction. The driver’s side is tacked together and does not require too much to complete it. All that the engine bay needs is some wire wrapping and to fabricate the wing and latch mount. Man it’s getting hard to find time lately.
Almost fished the driver’s side exhaust today.
Managed to complete the wiring routing and wrapping before the hardware went in.
Should be able to fire this thing up again during the week and I can't wait to do some donuts and go-cart the hell out of this thing before I start playing with the body work.
Vids to follow!!!
I liked the fiberglassed in fender louvers opposed to the bolted on style. What do you do about underneath the fender louver? Any protective cover, I would think the wheel may throw debris up against it?

You need to run a wire mesh / screen under the vents , in the wheelwell - needs to be strong enough to resist stones, debris and rubber from the tires, and still allow good air flow. One of the reasons race cars have them removable is so they can change the number, shape, and location of the louvers for an effective aero package at the different tracks - not to mention a quick repair/ change - if they are glassed in, then they probably have spare noses with a few different louver configurations.
Jon - looking forward to seeing the pics of your car with paint on it - keep us posted on the progress.
Sorry guys, I havn't looked at this thread lately... I'm going with 2011 Ferrari Red... looks like the "gaps" are comming together quite well. I'm pretty stoked about it, I will keep posting pics... It's comming along pretty well. Suposed to be done the first week in Dec, but I'm not rushing them hoping that they will do some very nice work. The shop owner is very happy to paint this car because it will defenately get alot of attention and should send some business his way.

First off, I would remind you that you are a psuedo-representative of Koni with that car, and you may want to think twice about what you post on the internet. Not trying to be a Richard, I'm just sayin...
Second, it sounds like the transaxle is working well. Is that the Stage I or Stage II?
