Programmable fuel gauge

For those using the Autometer 4310 programmable fuel gauge, does it read accurately with the Corvette senders? Each sender is 40 (E) to 250 (F) ohms. The 4310 can be programmed for one sender for these limits, or using both senders in parallel, 20-125 ohms. I'm considering switching to this gauge and would appreciate some feedback.

I don't have feedback on this gauge, but if you have a crossover, I would use just the sender in the passenger side tank. That's what I do (I have the Nordskog gauges) and it works very well.

I feel like I've missed something. Absent the crossover, what sort of configuration would allow you to access fuel from both tanks?

A pump in both tanks where you control which pump is running from the cockpit. Then use sending units in both tanks separately so that only the tank with the currently running pump is sending to the gauge.

Don't forget, you also have to split the return line if you leave the tanks seperate.

Sorry for the thread resurrection but I just want to get this clear in my brain. Do I just disconnect the driver tank and use the sender from the pass tank to the programmable gauge? Like I said with the sealing of the tanks I only want to do this once.

I will do all the calibration off of the car if I can with the sender some wires and a battery. The whole programing thing seems a little odd but I am sick of the car without an accurate gauge.

My other question is since the tanks are not linear shaped is the gauge linear? For example does it go from full to half really fast and then slow down to empty?

Sorry for all the questions but it has been I while since I messed with the car. Richard.

If you have the crossover line you can use either sender or both in parallel. In my case I have the crossover and use the passenger side sender by itself. I have a selector switch to connect to the other sender but this is not required with the crossover and I never use it. I programmed the gauge out of the car using the 10-turn pot. The senders seem very linear, when I add a certain number of gallons the gauge reflects this accurately over the whole range. I am very happy with it.

Great, I will not use the other sender and just remove the other tank from the gauge system. Richard.
