Well, like I said, everything from the engine plate back will be changed. The suspension arms will be longer and mounted in a more "standard" location that doesn't have near as much dynamic camber gain. All uprights and arms will be custom, so really the only area I am worried about is the area where the rear wheel comes close to the frame rails, if they do, from the engine plate forward.

I was not sure the lower arm angle was an issue until I read some of the older posts. Before that I was planning on changing it based on some at ride height pictures I saw of the rear. IMO, it just wasn't correct from what I know from experience. Not saying it is a major flaw, but certainly not maximized for adjustability and dynamic performance. You seem to be confirming that.

Just wondered how this car was coming. Any new pictures? The glass in the back looks awsome.
All the best

It took a long time, but it's finished. Pictures to come soon. Part came out beautiful in CF. Super light (6.5 lbs.) too. This is a great solution to glass fit and cool intake air challenges.

Shed Water

Shane, forgot to mention that there was a huge downpour in the afternoon while the car was parked at the track. When we checked out the intakes, you could tell that hardly any water went down the scoops. The drain tube you installed in the plenum had some moisture in it, but no water. I'll feel comfortable driving the car in any rain that the wiper can handle. Jim

Holy Old Post Batman

Did anything ever happen with a replacement for the ill fitting rear hatch glass? I had mine installed and it hits. My painter said he was going to make the opening bigger so that it would fit well, but he obviously did not. Any input or ideas would be great. Thanks

I still LOVE this option for the rear glass, one question now though. Will this be offered for the Gen 2 rear hatch? Or would we need to modify the hatch to fit like the Gen 1's?

I am sure this works fine for the Gen 2's Its just a drop in replacement for the glass! The change to the Gen 2 hatch was that the last few inches were molded into the body to make it easier to open the hatch with a wing installed on the car. I dont think any changes were made around the glass area on the hatch.

Damn, that's sweet looking stuff. Not my style, but it sure looks at home on the GTM!

As for rain/water getting into the motor, it's not a big deal so long as you're not
dumping a stream of water through the intake. Water injection, misted vapour,
rain drops, are all good. It cleans the plugs, and quenches the chamber.

Many cars run ram-air type filters, or open style front facing scoops (IE: 4th Gen Firebird)
without issue...for a reason.

If I can't get the rear glass to sit properly, maybe I"ll order one of these bad-boys
as well!

We did not hook this one up to the engine intake. The scoops just dump fresh air into the engine bay. Yes, there should be no problems with fitment for either a Gen I or Gen II as flotowngtm said....it is simply a replacement for the rear hatch glass, and the rear hatch glass has not changed.....at least not by a measurable amount.

Is there a photo of what this modification looks like as seen from the interior of the car looking strait out the back? This is a sweet looking option!

it looks good in cf too. shane, you should post some pics in cf. (there was an orange car with it, iirc)it would look even better, imho, to paint everything body color except for the two humps, and leave them cf. nice part.

Love the look of this because I think the rear end of the this car needs some help design wise. Little pricey but custom work always is.

Here is the fiberglass version that is blended into the hatch. Sorry about the photo quality....I don't think the camera knew what to do with that color......

Those are some great body mods...with quite possibly the worst choice of paint colors I have ever seen on a GTM.

I am only in the early planning stages of this but I have to say this part completes this car. I don't think I will do the the air intake. I am currently planning on doing a right left split that goes to the sides either to the quarters windows which I want to do scoops in or to the side door scoop if that's even possible. I like the aesthetic in the engine bay better that way. I am not going for a race car or anything. I want a car that has corvette or slightly better performance and turns heads when cruising. Love the work you guys do on aftermarket stuff like this.
