Owner's Registry - all 39 + 1 (lets fill the gaps!)

Prototype

Name: formerly Mark Fajardo and MrMustang
Display Name: 4nsicdoc
Location: Temecula, CA
Frame#: Prototype (Proof of Concept car from FFR)
Status: Sold on eBay, shipped to Germany

--------------------------------------

Frame #001

Name: John Spina
Display Name: GN Spyder
Location: Long Grove, IL
FFR Number: FFR4166GT
Status: Have been driving it for over a year now. It's been to DVSF in 2005, Woodward Cruise in 2005, at the race track once (ran 11.99@119, then almost lost it when I turned up the wick...seems the rear end got "light" and lifted. I believe I know what caused it, and will be panning the underside this year.

Build detail: The theme for building this beauty was to be "different". Well, it's different. I have a Buick V6 turbo engine AKA Buick Grand National, with twin turbos and strengthened lower end. Engine control is FAST ECU with 50 lb injectors and a Wide Band O2 sequentially controlled fueling system. Car weighs 3075 lbs with full tank and driver. Weight distribution is 52/48 F/R. Tire size 275-40ZR17 front, 335-35ZR17 rear (Sumitomo/Kumho). Customization includes BMW Z4 taillights, Corvette C5 rear side markers, VW Beetle front turn signals/side markers, HID headlamp conversion, HID fog light conversion, Chevy van 3rd. brake light on spoiler. Automatic 4spd. OD transmission with Moon Eyes digital shifter. Electrical system is mostly incorporated into the console, where there is a relay for each switch on the dash. All switches are LED low current pusbutton style switches. Gauges are Autometer. Remote control for hood, trunk and doors. Paint is 2003 Corvette Anniversary Red (3-step) and stripes are Cadillac Diamond White Pearl. Car was featured in Kit Car Builder magazine, Apr. 2006.

Status (5/21/09): I just purchased this unfinished Spyder kit from Milan, I am picking it up with my trailer in a couple of weeks. I will start on it this fall. Car will have 302, fairly stock motor. This winter I will probably take it out to California and have Jeff Miller paint it as he had with my two Roadsters. Unless a lightning bolt hits be first, it will be painted the same color as my current roadster, which is Candy Pearl Cranberry (a red that is similar to Corvette Magnetic Red)

Name: Richard Seweryniak (Sev-ver-ree-nee-ak) (formerly Ken Reid's car)
Display Name: RichardS
Location: Glen Allen, VA ('burbs of Richmond)
FFR Number: FFR4617GT
Status: Runs and drives great. Working little issues like trying to center the steering wheel, not easy with this 18:1 FR rack. I am slowly hand forming some end pieces for the dash. Replaced stock 450lb rear springs with 550lb due to bottoming out a couple times with the stock setup. The car definitely stands out when parked with 15-20 "roadsters".

Build detail: Stock EFI donor motor for now, new Ford Motorsport T5Z, IRS, 3.55 Torsen LSD Aluminum Diff, manual FR 18:1 rack, Manual brakes (converting to PBR aluminum dual piston calipers in the future). 17" Halibrand Corbra III wheels with 1" wheel spacers in the back. Update: as I have AC, we did a major dash mod. We molded firberglass panel to the lower part of the FFR panel including rounded ends. We included a center console for the AC controls, starter key, aux outlet, and radio. My dash ends fit right next to the window upright support and we have included two 1/4 in bolts in each side through the widow upright to the dash end. I am using a nut attachment that is built into the dash. the bolts are recessed a bit into the window upright for no door shut conflict.

Just back from paint, Ford 150 truck red.

Chassis 022, S/N: FFR4526GT which is also the the Texas VIN number for this car.

I have Vintage Air A/C. Car runs FAST.

A short note about Rob's picture below:
Quote:
AutoWeek ran a contest for their 50th Anniversary issue. Had to submit a photo and 50 words or less about the impact the automotive industry/car had on me. They selected one entry from each state. The photo was a thumbnail along with my comments but at least I made it into print along with the immortals.

There were only a few replicars among the 50 as I recall and mine was not even finished. The headers and side pipes weren't even installed. Proof that my pen is mightier than my wrench ... or they were just plain desperate to fill a page.

Mike Forte has been ordering parts for a spyder in Hollis NH, I believe the name mentioned was Sean Cummings.

No more info than that sorry.

PS - Dave I still can't see my frame number.

You said inboard of the left rear, on the 2X2 crossmember??

The "last" Spyder picked up (for now).#0039GT. And a '70 Cougar 351C needing attention. In the mean time I'll run around in my Raptor.

My car originally silver? You sure that's not the proto that went to Germany.

PS - that was the only spyder at open house(this year) so it must be Paul murphy.

And I took the pic.

Jay, the frame number should be welded INSIDE the 2x2 crossmember. If you looked right at the face of your left rear wheel you'd almost be able to see it right above the top of your tire, looking towards the right side of the car. I'll see if I can take a picture of mine as an example for you later today.

Other pictures:

Pre-production prototype

It later morphed into this car, and the future of the Spyder GT:

It was then painted silver and was the car that I saw unveiled in Sonoma at (then) Sears Point Raceway in 2002:

This car belonged to MrMustang and then 4nsicdoc and has since been sold on eBay to a guy in Germany.

Leave it up to Dave to make me make a post again. The number is not BEHIND the the Driver side rear tire it is in front of it or right behind the seats. if the body is on you most likely will not be able to get to it.

Hey steve
I think what Dave ment was if you you were looking at the car from the side it is behind the rear tire. Yes you are correct it is towards the front of the rear wheelwell, in the end of the 2x3 tube.
