Question

As the title says, I'm wondering if I need to paint the Breeze seat brackets or if it's OK to leave them bare.

Paint them with some POR-15. They will get wet despite your best efforts.

If you have stainless then no. If you have regular steel then yes.

These are the brackets that are used to install Cobra Clubman hi-back buckets. Mark also sells brackets for the FFR low-back buckets. The brackets place the seats at an angle so that they tilt backward so that they're more comfortable. Look at Breeze's web site under interior accessories.

I sprayed tthem with Hammerite. It's as tough as nails and POR-15 is nasty to spray and doesn't come in a spray can.

Jim,

I've got the stainless ones and am not planning to paint them. But, Rustoleum from Home Depot should work just fine. By the way, when you get the installation all figured out maybe you could come help me install mine?

painted mine with rustoleum also, came out great.

Hammerite I believe is also made by rustoleum, it just has a different finish.

The part that gets riveted to the floor I left bare because I'm going to cover it with a paint on insulation. But the angle plate that gets bolted to the bottom of the seat I powdercoated black. Nobody can see it, but I have this thing about coating every steel part. Helps me to sleep at night.
